A third person has been arrested and accused of assisting one of the Orleans Justice Center escaped fugitives.
Louisiana State Police arrested Connie Weeden, 59, of Slidell on Thursday night. She’s accused of helping Jermain Donald, who is still on the run.
According to WDSU sources, Weeden is Donald’s grandmother.
Investigators say Weeden provided cash to Donald via a cellphone app. As a result of the investigation, Weeden was found in Slidell and placed under arrest.
She is facing a charge of felony accessory after the fact and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.
Five inmates are still at large after ten escaped the jail one week ago.
