A major concert has been canceled after one of the headliners was diagnosed with a medical condition.
Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks were scheduled to share the stage together for the first time ever in New Orleans in October.
Joel issued a statement Friday on his social media confirming he was diagnosed with a brain disorder, and would be canceling all his tour stops to undergo physical therapy.
“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance,” the post says. “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.”
Joel’s upcoming tour included numerous stops at stadiums across the United States alongside Sting, Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks.
“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” a statement from Joel says.
In March, Joel announced that he would postpone concerts for four months due to a medical condition that required surgery.
