Louisiana State Police are investigating a deadly two-car crash in Covington.
Police say the crash happened Monday around 1:30 p.m. on La Hwy 437, near South Fitzmorris Road in St. Tammany Parish.
According to investigators, a Nissan Altima was driving northbound on LA Hwy 437 at the same time a Chevrolet was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 437.
For reasons still under investigation, the Nissan started making a left turn onto South Fitzmorris Road.
As the Nissan entered the southbound lane, it was struck on the passenger side by the Chevrolet.
The passenger of the Nissan, Marie Henry, 53, of Mukilteo, Washington sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The driver and two other passengers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were also transported to a local hospital.
The occupants in the Chevrolet were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation.
