The sixth-ranked LSU Tigers (44-14) take down the Little Rock Trojans (24-33) 7-0 in the first game of the Baton Rouge Regional.
This game was supposed to start at 2 p.m. but there were a couple weather days which led to a 7:36 p.m. first pitch.
Second baseman Daniel Dickinson decided to make it rain home runs in this game.
Dickinson hit two long balls in this game.
LSU got the scoring started in the first inning with a two-out RBI single by outfielder Jake Brown.
LSU extended its lead to 2-0 in the second inning after first baseman Jared “Bear” Jones smoked a two-out single to left field.
The Tigers hit a couple balls to the warning track early in the game but finally got one over the fence when Dickinson connected on solo home run in the fifth to give LSU the 3-0 lead.
His second home run came in the sixth inning with LSU up 4-0, launching a two-run shot to left field to make it a 6-0 lead for the Tigers.
Anthony Eyanson got the start for LSU.
The righty was very good against the Little Rock lineup.
Eyanson went 7.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk and struck out 7 Trojans.
LSU will face the winner of Rhode Island and Dallas Baptist in the winners bracket game Saturday at 8 p.m.
